If a nonconforming sign is removed or its use discontinued for a continuous period
of not less than 180 days, every future use shall be in conformity with the provisions
of this division.
(b)
No nonconforming sign shall be enlarged or its use extended except in conformity with
the provisions of this division, and no nonconforming sign destroyed or damaged to
the extent of 50 percent or more of its use, shall be repaired or restored except
in conformity with the provisions of this code.
